Girish Putcha
Associate
Dr. Putcha focuses on life science investments and joined the firm in 2007. Most recently, he has served as medical director at Aviir, Inc. and as a consultant to CardioDx, Inc. and Calderome, Inc., all venture-funded personalized medicine companies focused on different indications in cardiovascular disease and oncology. Prior to that, he was a summer associate at RiverVest Venture partners, where he also focused on venture capital investments in biopharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare service companies, helping to lead RiverVest's investment in Conforma Therapeutics.
Dr. Putcha is a board-eligible pathologist, with subspecialization in molecular diagnostics, from the Stanford University School of Medicine. He holds an M.D. and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Washington University School of Medicine, an M.A. in Medical Law & Ethics and an M.Sc. in the History of Medicine from the University of London and the Wellcome Institute as a Marshall Scholar, and a B.A. in Health Policy, with a concentration in Biochemistry, from Rice University. He currently serves as a board observer at Novasys Medical, Inc., Phenomix Corporation, and PowerVision, Inc.
